Normalize before comparing
Nurseries may describe similar Ficus trees with different terms and measurement habits. A fair comparison begins by translating every offer into one shared specification sheet.
Use the same fields for every source
- Form and botanical identification
- Overall height and measurement date
- Crown width on two axes
- Clear trunk and trunk girth at an agreed point
- Aerial-root character
- Root-ball or container dimensions
- Available quantity and acceptable variation
- Preparation included in the quotation
Separate measurable facts from visual judgment
Dimensions describe scale; photographs and videos describe silhouette, density, balance and character. Keep both in the comparison rather than replacing one with the other.
Compare delivered value
Price should be read with preparation, protection, documentation, inland transport, container use and the probability that the batch will meet the accepted range. The lowest tree price can create a higher delivered risk.
Document the final acceptance
Mark selected trees or define a batch rule, record approved evidence and state which substitutions require permission. This turns a conversation into an executable sourcing instruction.
