Buyer context

A wholesale buyer needed a range that could be presented consistently to downstream customers rather than a one-off group of unrelated trees.

The sourcing challenge

Available stock varied between nurseries. Similar trade names did not always mean similar proportions, root forms or finish quality. Quantity also changed by size band.

How we approached it

We separated the requirement into form and size groups, compared sources using the same measurement fields and built a shortlist that balanced visual consistency with realistic availability.

Buyer lesson

Define which characteristics must remain consistent and which can vary. A workable range often depends on controlling a few visible attributes rather than forcing every tree to be identical.
